John Grasmeier has been involved in real estate since his childhood in New York, where the family business was a real estate and construction company. After taking his first principles and practices of real estate course at Hofstra University at the early age of 19, he has since been licensed in Virginia as well as his current home state of Florida.

After relocating to Florida in 1995, John managed a 300 unit apartment complex. He was responsible for everything from qualifying and leasing to new tenants, turnovers and evictions. He also spent several years working as a loan officer for a mortgage lender before he was hired as an agent by Coldwell Banker in 2003, when the Real in Florida website was first launched.

Because of his background, John was offered a position as MLS systems administrator for the Royal Palm Coast Association of Realtors™ – then the Realtor Association of Fort Myers and the Beach. In addition to being responsible for the largest MLS system in Southwest Florida, he trained hundreds of our area Realtors in systems, policies and ethics.

John is a decorated combat veteran of the United States Army and has served as a technical adviser to the U.S. government on overseas contracts. He lives in Fort Myers with his wife and daughter and owns his own real estate investment company that speculates in land and income producing property. He is a member of the Real Estate Investment Society, The American Legion and the Sports Car Club of America. In his spare time he is a musician, amateur auto racer and fitness enthusiast.
